A big thank you to the Victoria Park Rotary for their generous $500 donation to Activate Mental Health. Their support will help us breathe new life into our board game collection for our much‑loved monthly Board Games Night. We’re incredibly grateful for their kindness and their ongoing commitment to strengthening our community.

Since launching in August 2016 at the Victoria Park Community Centre, Board Games Night has grown into one of our most cherished traditions. It’s been a while since we’ve refreshed our games library, so this contribution means our members will soon have a whole range of new and exciting titles to enjoy together.

The board games we purchased with these funds (in alphabetical order) include:

  • Dixit

  • Don’t Fall For It

  • Herd Mentality

  • Love Letter

  • Munchkin

  • Rhymes With Duck

  • Sounds Fishy

  • Unstable Unicorns

Feedback from our members regarding our game nights

Some of the testimonials we’ve received about our board games night include:

“As my wife passed away, it's the only time I've met with people as I'm not working. There are

There are many different games, and you get to meet great people there. For people like me, it's the only outing you have in the month, and I don't see anyone apart from these games nights and

Everyone plays games, then helps to pack everything up at the end of the night.”

“I enjoy the board game night. It’s cool to get me out of the house, and I'll meet people, and I

really need that. I've got no family here, and I don't have many friends here, so I need to get

out. I enjoy the board game and the opportunity to meet people, and I look forward to it every month. It’s a cheap night for eight dollars. That's cheaper than a movie.”

“Great host, always ensuring that everyone is having a good time. Both my daughter and I love

going to game nights to enjoy a lovely evening with board games, chatting with people, and

being in a safe place, especially for people like me who sometimes struggle with social

interactions.”

“I made new friends and formed friendships at the games night.”
