Sponsor Spotlight – Rotary Club of Northbridge
We’re excited to highlight Michael Rosario, President of Rotary Northbridge! Rotary Northbridge has provided vital sponsorship for our work since July 2025, and as we move through the second year of this official sponsorship, we couldn't be more grateful. A huge thank you to Michael and the entire Rotary Northbridge team for your generous financial backing, ongoing support, and collaboration.
Tell us about the Rotary club.
The Rotary Club of Northbridge is part of Rotary International with 32,000 clubs around the world. Our club in Northbridge is very much focused on the community. How can we add value in our own way? And who can we partner with who deliver services? So when we met Activate Mental Health three years ago, it was early days for the organisation. They were just about to become a charity but we recognised that what Rahul’s team wanted to do addressed a lot of things that we’re not capable of doing on our own and so partnering with Activate Mental Health means that they’re delivering services into the community that we can’t deliver ourselves. Through helping to fund some of their activities they’re doing really good things.

What other causes does Rotary assist with?
We have a couple of overseas programs that we are involved with. For example, Interplast which helps with surgeries for people in countries where they might have craniofacial issues or burns and they can’t afford the top medical intervention that’s required. As intervention is not available in their home country, Rotary will fly them to a mainland hospital or they send medical teams to perform no surgeries. We also sponsor a couple of programs in Bali for children at schools. Rotary itself also supports the eradication of polio around the world and clubs in different locations. With many overseas commitments, it is quite broad.
Why does Rotary feel a need to sponsor AMH?
When we fundraisers we look at organisations that are embedded in the community and have connections that span different generations. Consequently, Activate Mental Health deals with a younger cross-section of the community and society. They’re also more in tune with those particular people in regards to their support. By recognising that and supporting Activate Mental Health in our own way, we’re connecting with those people. They might never meet us and we might never meet them but it’s something. It’s nice to know that you’re contributing.

What value does Rotary have?
We live by the premise of the four-way test. That means that we’ve got some standards that every Rotary around the world follows. That’s 1.2 million Rotary members who will always adhere to these standards and that is really important as you want organisations to feel comfortable with your motives and what you stand for. Weekly you may not make it to a meeting and dinner but that’s okay as we ultimately have all got a similar outlook which is to help the people we can.
Is there a long-term vision you wish to see for Rotary and AMH?
We’re really keen for other Rotary clubs to interact with mental health because then they can potentially extend their services and if they have enough ongoing support, work with organisations depending on what roles are available. It means that you can finance trainers or people who can deliver services around the metropolitan area. Our focus is very much about Northbridge and what’s happening on the streets. If other clubs can also support Activate Mental Health then it gives the registered charity the opportunity to extend their own services.
Thanks must go to the Rotary Club of Northbridge for their generous support of Activate Mental Health. Their valued contribution allows us to reach more people in our network.
