Introducing Cyrille

Cyrille was one of the most influential volunteers we've had at Activate Mental Health. A consultant by profession, Cyrille has worked across the globe in both Europe and Australia, among other places. After applying to support Activate Mental Health with volunteer management, Cyrille assisted group founder Rahul Seth in establishing the foundations of our charity structure. Below, Cyrille shares why he chose to get involved with our cause and why he continues to support it after relocating back to France, his country of origin.

Why did I choose to help Activate Mental Health all the way from France?

Mental health is a universal concern that transcends borders, cultures, and languages. When I was living in Perth (Australia), I have met Rahul Seth, the founder of Activate Mental Health (AMH), and we have worked together on establishing the strategy and operating model of AMH. I had no idea what Mental health issue really was, I was just having stereotypes like everyone else. Rahul made me discover the vibrant community he has built, working on improving well-being through connection, fun, and inclusion. After I moved back to France, I decided to keep supporting them, so here’s why this cause resonates so deeply with me and why I believed in its mission.

A global need for mental health support

Mental health challenges affect millions worldwide, and the pandemic has only intensified the need for accessible, compassionate support networks. Activate Mental Health stands out because it offers something unique: volunteer-led social events that foster genuine human connection in a welcoming and inclusive environment. These events—ranging from board games to nature walks—are more than just activities; they are lifelines that help reduce loneliness, anxiety, and stress by bringing people together.

The power of connection and community

I see firsthand how isolation can impact mental well-being. Research shows that social connection is a critical factor in improving mental health, boosting confidence, and reducing anxiety. Activate Mental Health’s approach aligns perfectly with this understanding. By volunteering and supporting their work remotely, I contribute to creating spaces where people feel valued and connected, no matter where they are in the world.

Bridging Distances with Shared Values

Distance is no barrier when you share a vision of a healthier, happier community. Supporting Activate Mental Health allows me to be part of a global movement that prioritises kindness, inclusion, and fun as tools for mental wellness. Their model—rooted in community engagement and volunteerism—demonstrates how small, consistent efforts can make a big difference. It costs just $14 to run one event, yet these events have a profound impact on participants’ lives.

Why I Advocate for Mental Health Awareness

Mental health marketing is about more than promotion; it’s about understanding and empathising with people’s unique needs and challenges. By sharing my journey and involvement with Activate Mental Health, I hope to inspire others to recognise the importance of mental well-being and to support initiatives that foster connection and resilience.

How You Can Help

Whether you’re near or far, there are many ways to get involved - from volunteering as an event host to simply spreading the word. Every act of support helps build a stronger, more inclusive community where mental health is prioritised and stigma is reduced. Of course, you can also donate to help support the cause!!!
